From "World's Greatest Dad," OUCH/Garf Uncle one-night EP of yore:
A SMALL ARMY
Thursday, October 16. 2008
For the nerds in the house, there's an extremely long recount of the recording of "Abigail" - process, equipment and performance - over at my barely-legal livejournal:
http://donblood.livejournal.com/13965.html
Digest at your peril.
Oh yes. Flaming Tusk's debut EP, "Abigail," is live at flamingtusk.com. Click "Music." Produced, engineered and mixed by me, mastered by James Cargill, art by Xristophage.
Oh, and I played lead guitar and wrote the first three songs on the record.
Please click for brutality. Preferably in a comfortable location where you can crank the shit up to maximum volume.

Out of love, I've put together the OUCH and Don Red records as mp3s for free download. The mp3s are 192k and tagged all good and proper.
Download here:
Don Red - Newman's Own Suicide Mind Eraser
OUCH - Brang It
These are from the original pre-CD masters. The only processing was encoding them as MP3. Results may vary. Also: free.
Thanks to Colin Barrett for getting me off my ass to do this.

To anyone thinking of buying music from Landing Party Records via their site: don't do that. I found out today that at least one person paid $10 for "Newman's Own Suicide Mind Eraser" and never received a copy. Their provided email addresses bounce, so there's zero recourse.
To Landing Party Records: just take down the fucking site and call it a day, already. You don't exist anymore, and continuing to take people's money without a product to show for it is bad form. HITLER'S bad form.

Seize Them! are both my band friends and my real friends. My band is friends with their band and I am friends with everyone in their band.
Less confusing is that they have just finished an EP, and as the guy who mixed and mastered the sucker, I am in a unique position to tell you how fuckingly great it is. It is really and truly fuckingly great. Not a moment of wasted music - all killer, nothing bad. They played their asses off and it shows.
The album will be available beginning April 25, at their record release party in Manhattan. Further details are here at this place.

The show last night was beautiful. Beautiful like this:
I played that shit so hard and well. Schneidaar was there and he can vouch for me. Other data points:
- Adam Fanning is looking for a new gig. He may trade stocks. He has no experience, but the current market climate seems friendly to newcomers.
- Flaming Tusk is not a lie. There are rumors circulating in single-occupancy bathrooms around the city that Flaming Tusk may be a hoax, but I assure you, it's not. Schneidaar is in the band and he can vouch for this.
- Ali Oops can take shots and work the beat machine all with one hand. The other hand is playing the pianoooooooo.

I, along with some friends of Satan, have formed a band called FLAMING TUSK. We play metal.
So far we have about fifteen minutes of music over three songs plus a few more in the works. The songs are long, complicated, and thrash faces with heretofore unheralded brutality.
The players:
Stolas Trephinator
Commander Of The Unholy 26
vocals
Zosimus
Pontifex Maximus
guitar
Don Blood
guitar
Schneidaar
Sznajdar Schneigulf
bass
Xristophage
War God Caducifer
drums
We're not going public until we have a significant body of material, but here's a short list of song titles to get your imagination fired up:
- 26 Legions
- I Nap In Blood
- Abigail (Guts Down the Drain)
